People have a distorted perception of fashion and or style, like a woman wearing something straight out of an Elle magazine and not feeling comfortable in it.  Garment are just clothes, like skin over our flesh.  If we as human beings, people with emotion, can not freely express ourselves, like a man who won’t smile just because he’s in a bespoke suit and has to live up to the American Psycho character is just foolish. Looking at this photo, I not only want you to see the beauty that model Xiao possesses, but instead understand she is wearing an over sized knit sweater and she feels comfortable and confident enough to smile and laugh with photographers and editors.  She is herself and not just a woman wearing a costume. Who do you think will feel more uncomfortable, Anna Wintour in Xiaos clothes or Xiao in Anna’s clothes?  I would say Anna in Xiao’s clothes. Think about what I’m saying here.
