PRO-Keds, the originators of footwear, the creator of the sneaker, the comeback of the year?
As a sneaker connoisseur I appreciate all types of footwear, but to be honest Pro-Keds have fell off my radar for awhile yet again with recent collaborations, I feel like they’re coming back stronger than ever.   The work between Play Clothes and PRO-Keds got their name buzzing in the street culture and the J.Crew partnership has the SoHo man cuffing their pants.. PRO-Keds is back!  With the colder season just around the corner, PRO-Keds shows off their latest collaboration and this time it’s with the world famous outdoor label, WOOLRICH.  It’s only right for these two original labels to link up and create something magnificently classic for the Fall and Winter.
Based on the silhouette of the Royal Master Dura Kool from 1974, WOOLRICH blessed the Royal Master DK in their plaid wool in 3 different colors; red, blue and grey, the it colors for this Fall/Winter.  This shoe is perfect for the warmer, casual days of Fall or winter without looking like a mess or lazy.  The whole upper excluding the toe and ankles are fabricated in WOOLRICH, while the ankle is a very soft black micro fiber suede, top notch quality in this shoe.
Expect these to drop during the holidays of 2013.

Lately it’s been all about brogues for me and really neglected sneakers, ironically forgetting where my love for fashion started.  But something sparked my love for rubber soles once again and I found myself desiring these kicks, needing to have pairs.  I have returned, fallen in love once again and I have curated a ‘Top 7 List’ for the men who are lost, but seeking to be found.  To be found first you need to find, search, but look no further.. this right here is the only list you will need.  Proceed.

There was a time when the “fashion Gods” over at GQ, I only quoted this because although I try not to use the word God lightly I needed to make an obvious point, said never to wear black shoes “only for weddings and funerals”. Adam Rapoport in an episode of GQ Style featuring Domenico Vacca discuss brown shoes and how black shoes are ‘easy’ and in another episode Glen O’Brien, who I love, was totally against black shoes too. This was about a year ago, back when buying brogues was all new to me (I primarily wore Jordan’s and Nike’s) so I agreed, nodded my head in consent and proceeded to listened. Sticking to the rule of wearing only different shades of brown given to me by Domenico, I later realized brown didn’t suit me well and also stupid, the advice I mean.
Fashion magazines always talk about how one should develop style, not follow trends and break “the rules”, but here’s the thing, by telling us black shoes are strictly for, and I again I will quote Mr. Vacca, “only for weddings and funerals” you are limiting people in a way one can’t be literally black and white minimalistic. Also Hypocritical. After my neon colored shoe phase has passed I started to appreciate the simpler things in fashion, such as the fitted white button down or the camel trench. The look I love is a cropped trouser complemented by a pair of Florsheim black brogue, just like how Thom Browne would do it. Think about how ‘that look’ would come out with a pair of brown loafers or wing tip… not as simple and clean in comparison to the black pair eyy?  <— Rhetorical question.

The eccentric soul of his style presents itself even through the smallest detail. His choice of orange socks adds a little extra pop and ties the sophisticatedly loud Cole Haan brogues together; almost like a pre-introduction if you will. This shoe belongs to the one and only Joshua Kissi of Street Etiquette.

New York City.  I walk on her floor, the ‘concrete jungle’.  I love the city too much, enough not to disrespect the ‘Big Apple’ by walking on it’s skin with a pair of sandals.  Jessica said boots are made for walking, but these velvet slippers were made to kiss the pavement I replied.  As my Del Toro’s makes-out with her, she kisses back, she get’s rough, my sole would prove that.  I know that she loves me too, because when I kissed her where she was wet, she got the logo tattooed.
